myTunesControl overview

myTunesControl is a menubar remote control for iTunes and allows to play/skip thru your library and playlists and also allows to fast search for items. It can be completely operated by keyboard.

myTunesControl started as a simple test-project to learn something about the ScriptingBridge and I hate doing things theoretically. I'd rather create something you really can touch and use. And you can use myTunesControl!

Version for 10.5.8 available here.

Works perfectly. I have 30.000+ tunes in my library and it loads them quickly. Could call it remote ham and eggs for all I care. Good job.

Developer, you can't just use words any way you want and expect that to change their meaning for your convenience. For instance, you cannot call myTunesControl a "menu bar remote control" if IT IS NOT REMOTE! The New Oxford American Dictionary (developer of Apple's Dictionary.app) defines 'remote control' as "control of a machine or apparatus 1) FROM A DISTANCE 2) BY MEANS OF SIGNALS TRANSMITTED BY A RADIO OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE" [my emphasis & numbering]. Does myTunesControl meet those two conditions? No? Not even one of them? No? That's OK, your app description works just as well if you remove the FRAUDULENT word "remote" and call it simply "a menubar iTunes controller" - just like the other 37 such apps. And word to the wise (and you too), if you don't change your app description immediately, I suspect the bona fide iTunes remote control apps' developers will gang up and blacklist you in short order. I won't get into whether the correct spelling is 'menu bar' (BAD) or 'menubar' (GOOD), or whether it should be capitalized (NO), because Apple itself (which invented it) is just as confused as the rest of us - on their website they spell it both ways.
